Nuclear Rider

Elena on her Kawasaki ZX-11

It’s not everyday I find a girl riding a Kawasaki ZX-11 around a nuclear dead zone. Armed with a full tank of gas, a tire kit and her trusty Geiger counter this crazy Ukrainian girl speeds through the ghost town Chernobyl for gamma radiation rides. Being a daughter of a nuclear physicist with governmental access to the area she’s got a very interesting story to tell about the 1986 nuclear meltdown: Elena’s Motorcyle Ride through Chernobyl. Scientists claim that it would take a good 300-900 years before the area could ever be populated again. Out of 3500 people who stayed close there’s only 400 standing today. I’d be damned to miss out on her next ride. The town’s silence is deafening, but it’s got great scenery with beautiful nature and mutated wildlife.

Beautiful Ghost Town
