Webdesign

It’s kind of funny how people bump across my site from search terms like sexy vampire or fuck chinese or emachines overheat. I guess that’s the price you pay for blogging. I would rather be found when people search for webdesign or custom webdesign or interface design, and maybe even photoshop tutorials — which I used to have lots of and don’t really have any at the moment but will have tons of coming.. hehe! :-P Oh well.. incomprehendable googleverse we abide in.

BTW I do do custom webdesign, interface design, etc. so if one day you find this page looking for an affordable solution, drop me a line! ;)

Navelo Dot Com

A dude friend of mine who is a PHP coder asked me two days ago how I ranked up #1 in Google for the keyword JErm. I told him I was the JErm!! :D

He then wondered how I got a PR5 and how search terms like 3dsmax5 or hentai tentacles would put me up on page 1 of the results.

He was continuously feeding my ego.

Then he asked how he could get up there for his domain keyword, navelo. Right now if you search navelo, his CMS Class listed on phpclasses.org would come up first, but his domain navelo.com is deeply burried within the results.

That pisses him off!

This post, supposedly, would give me a page 1 Google listing for the keyword navelo, thus fulfilling my attempt to drive him nutster! :-P

But I’ll be nice and credit the guy, so here’s his website: navelo.com

Google Desktop

I almost always miss out on emerging technology but today I’m only a few days lagged. I bumped across this article just now and apparently Google has developed a client that allows you to search your hard drive like you do websites and they call it Google Desktop. It indexes everything in your harddrive(s) on the first run then you can search anything with light speed using the friendly Google interface. I can’t start to tell you how very useful and innovative it is, you’ll just have to download it and experience it yourself! GO.. what the hell are you waiting for? :D

GmailFS

I’m on dial-up! :( While having a Gmail account is very nice it’s not too convenient, so I still stuck with my me-at-jermexpress.com POP account as my main email. Today I found another interesting way to utilize excessive space on Gmail. I discovered a Windows shell extension that allows you to store files on a Gmail account, as if it were a drive on your local computer. I thought it’s pretty cool so despite my crappy dial-up I downloaded it, installed it, and now I’m telling you about it so stop wasting those precious bytes and load them up!! :D

Gmail Creeps

For those of you who has a Gmail account, let me ask you a question: have you read Google’s policy statements?! If you’re like me then the answer is probably no, so I encourage you to read this article: Gmail is too creepy to broaden your perspective of what might be going on behind the Google labs.

You can terminate your account at any time, by going to the account information page. We typically deactivate accounts within two business days of such requests. You should be aware, however, that residual copies of information may remain stored on our systems even after the deletion of information or the termination of your account.

WTF?? I guess I’ll stop using my Gmail account for personal stuff now..

Update: I was trying to delete a few messages in my Gmail account and when I did the last step (delete forever) it fed me this: No conversations in the trash. Who needs to delete when you have 1000 MB of storage?! This is getting really creepy.. maybe that article was right!! Now I wonder if my deleted emails went to be stored somewhere eternally deep inside the Google mainframes to haunt me in the future!!

Yet another update: I just found this on Gmail’s login page: Gmail and Privacy; looks like their attempt to clear the air but still looks suspicious. I’m not sure who or what to believe anymore! ~lol~
