I have a hero complex that has yet to prove its existence. Never got the chance anyway. This guy did though, and jumped at the chance, saving a girl and her mother.
NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — A young man was jailed on suspicion of stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her mother Tuesday during a confrontation at the victims’ South Bay apartment, authorities reported.
Omar Mejia Marquez, 18, allegedly pulled a knife while arguing with Nereida Reyes, 21, at her home in the 2500 block of A Avenue in National City about 9:45 a.m., according to police.
Marquez allegedly slashed her in the face, neck and abdomen, then attacked Audora Espinoza, 57, when she tried to come to the aid of her daughter, National City Police Department Sgt. Mike Harlan said.
A short time later, a passerby heard the commotion, hurried into the residence, grabbed Marquez and held him until patrol officers arrived, the sergeant said.
Medics took Reyes to a hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition, Harlan said.
Espinoza was treated at an emergency ward for superficial wounds to her abdomen, chest and back.
The good Samaritan was uninjured.

You are not alone, obviously. But something is a pattern here. I’ve seen it. You’ve seen it. Everyone has seen it. And what is my opinion? Too many comics as a child. Oh no. No, no, no. Destiny calls to us gentleman. I may sound like a crazy person, but just take a listen.
Every since men and women like us were children we have felt the need to help. Like there could be no possible way that this was all that there was to life. But that is not the case.
There IS a need for heroes, ladies and gentleman. But what keeps us from moving to the next level? But this world is not a comic book. But it has its villains. Albert Fish, Adolf Hitler, Charles Manson, all different creatures who used thier evil in different ways. But what about every other killer, or rapist, or conspirist, terrorist and organization dedicated to the destruction of innocence? They will just stand and continue unopposed, dodging the authorities because they can dodge an organization that they CAN see. But they dont know that there are men like us. They have an idea. Oh yeah.
But maybe I’m just talking nonsense. Maybe there is no next level. Just a feeling to help others. A feeling for something more. A feeling that says, we could effect millions. Maybe, there is just a wall after that.
Well ladies and gentleman, I personally WILL NOT stand by and wait for the next killer. And I have taken the next step to the extreme.
