Pre-flight Safety Demo “Dance”

I’ve always loved stewardesses. They’re so eloquent in a rehearsed way I find them untouchably sexy. Their every move, every word that come out of their luscious lipsticked lips, seem somewhat programmed and if you look at them long enough you’ll see them dancing.

jen - a.k.a. mao pictures this in a very expressive strip about the pre-flight safety demos:

New comic exercise, pretty much for fun and because it’s true. I’ve always found the pre-flight safety demo strangely soothing, depending on the “performance”.

It’s something I never think about (and it’s sort of a weird thing to think about), but once or twice a year in the minutes before flight I remember and get become inexplicably excited. It reminds me of this maiko dance routine video they played on a loop at the Asian Art Museum once. She mostly stood in one place the whole time, and her movements were small–such as a slow twirl of the wrist–but it was how each movement glided calmly, without haste, into the next that held me raptly mesmerized.

More strips after the jump.

Now that’s a cute one.. and how come you never told me that you got a thing for stewardesses? That’s it, you’re gonna take the window seats everytime we travel! =P

That’s very well illustrated! And so true - of many things in our daily lives - if that was framed as a poster, I think I’d buy it…

    Cheers!

[…] Great little “comic strip”, flight related, yet it seems to mean something more…[link] […]
